En búsqueda de la hoja es un trayecto que va más allá del té como objeto o ceremonia. Una forma de explorar la enseñanza del té en el día a día: colocar la vida en un bowl y permitir que cada sorbo sea un respiro
Aquí cada persona encuentra su propio sentido de la hoja. No hay una forma correcta de beberla, ni de mirarla, ni de comprenderla.
La hoja no se explica.
Se revela distinto en cada cuerpo, en cada paso, en cada silencio.

Stillness is an expedition because it does not lead to the same place.
It leads to direct experience.

To observing without invading.
To becoming part of the landscape without altering it.
In search of the leaf is a path that goes beyond tea as an object or a ceremony.
It is a way of exploring the teaching of tea in life: placing life in a bowl and allowing each sip to be a breath.
Here, each person finds their own meaning in the leaf.
There is no right way to drink it, to look at it, or to understand it.
The leaf does not explain itself.
It reveals itself differently in each body, in each step, in each silence.

Se desarrolla siguiendo pasajes vivos.
Por eso no es un curso ni un retiro, sino una expedición.
En búsqueda de la hoja no sucede en un espacio reducido ni exclusivo. Ocurre en movimiento.
A lo largo de siete días, el recorrido se abre en distintos territorios y cada desplazamiento da inicio a un pasaje. La expedición se organiza en tres movimientos, en diálogo con los elementos que son parte del té, donde el origen, lo invisible y la ceremonia se descubren caminando, observando y habitando.
Este no es un viaje turístico.
Aunque se visitan espacios, no se invaden.
No se consume el paisaje: se lo escucha.
Se participa como parte del entorno, con respeto, presencia y atención al origen de la hoja.

That is why it is not a course or a retreat, but an expedition.
In search of the leaf does not take place in a confined or exclusive space.
It happens in movement. Over seven days, the journey opens across different territories, and each displacement initiates a passage.
The expedition is organized into three movements, in dialogue with the elements, where origin, the invisible, and ceremony are discovered by walking, observing, and inhabiting.
This is not a tourist trip.
Although places are visited, they are not invaded.
The landscape is not consumed; it is listened to.
Participation happens as part of the environment, with respect, presence, and attention to the origin of the leaf.
Antes de iniciar la expedición en Japón, atravesamos un proceso de preparación. En tres encuentros virtuales, se abre el contexto necesario para llegar con respeto y comprensión. Amira, quien vive en Japón, comparte las claves socioculturales que sostienen la vida cotidiana. Los encuentros siguientes introducen nociones básicas del idioma y de la cultura japonesa, contemplando sus tensiones y sus matices.
La expedición culmina el último día con una ceremonia de té japonesa completa.
Japón no es elegido al azar. La visión japonesa del té difiere profundamente de la china: aquí el té no es solo ceremonia, es forma de vida, gesto contenido, ética del cuidado, silencio y tiempo que no corre, sino que acompaña.
Quietud no enseña a beber té.
Invita a aprender a estar como una forma más de habitar la vida.
Before beginning the expedition in Japan, each participant goes through a process of preparation.
Through three virtual gatherings, the necessary context is opened in order to arrive with respect and understanding. Amira, who lives in Japan, shares the sociocultural keys that sustain everyday life. The following sessions introduce basic notions of the language and Japanese culture, acknowledging its light, its tensions, and its nuances.
The expedition culminates on the final day with a complete Japanese tea ceremony.
Japan is not chosen at random. The Japanese vision of tea differs profoundly from the Chinese one: here, tea is not only ceremony—it is a way of life, a contained gesture, an ethic of care, silence, and a sense of time that does not rush, but accompanies.
Stillness does not teach how to drink tea.
It invites learning how to be, as another way of inhabiting life.

La expedición se sostiene en tres ubicaciones clave, elegidas para trazar un recorrido coherente y vivo. Estos desplazamientos no son solo logísticos: generan un trazo que acompaña los pasajes de la experiencia.
Los hospedajes no son de lujo. Son espacios sencillos, elegidos con cuidado, que nos invitan a habitar el Japón real, no la idea occidentalizada de Japón. La intención no es priorizar la comodidad, sino abrir la posibilidad de integración, observación y presencia. Al soltar ciertas expectativas, se abre una escucha distinta.
Quietud también deja espacio para la exploración individual. No todo está guiado ni dirigido: hay momentos donde cada persona puede caminar, observar, detenerse o entrar en contacto con lo que el lugar despierta, a su propio ritmo.
The expedition is grounded in three key locations, chosen to trace a coherent and living journey. These movements are not merely logistical; they create a line that accompanies the passages of the experience.
The accommodations are not luxurious. They are simple spaces, carefully chosen, inviting us to inhabit the real Japan, not a Westernized idea of it. The intention is not to prioritize comfort, but to open the possibility for integration, observation, and presence. By letting go of certain expectations, a different kind of listening emerges.
Stillness also leaves space for individual exploration. Not everything is guided or directed: there are moments when each person can walk, observe, pause, or enter into contact with what the place awakens, at their own rhythm.

Movements are not made by private transportation. We integrate into the rhythm of the country by using the metro and public transportation, as part of the experience of being and inhabiting.
Each person receives a welcome set, which includes:

A basic guide to self-care and responsibility during the journey.

Essential Japanese phrases for everyday life.

Practical guidance for moving with respect and presence.
Meals outside of breakfasts and dinners are not included. This decision is intentional: it allows each person to explore from curiosity, desire, and personal enjoyment, choosing where and how to eat, without imposition.
Durante la expedición, cada participante recibe una cámara de rollo para registrar la expedición desde su propia mirada: lo que se escapa, lo que permanece, lo que no pide ser entendido.
No para capturar Japón, sino para registrar su forma de estar ahí. Las fotografías se revelan y se envían por correo postal cuando el viaje ya terminó, como un eco de lo vivido.
During the expedition, each participant receives a film camera to register the journey through their own gaze: what escapes, what remains, what does not ask to be understood.
Not to capture Japan, but to register their way of being there. The photographs are developed and sent by postal mail once the journey has ended, as an echo of what was lived.
Esta expedición no incluye boletos de avión ni traslados al punto de encuentro.
Cada participante es responsable de gestionar su documentación, requisitos migratorios y contar con un seguro de viajero vigente.
Por razones de cuidado y seguridad, al llegar al punto de encuentro se entregará una hoja responsiva, como parte del acuerdo de presencia y responsabilidad compartida durante la expedición.
Este viaje se comparte en español e inglés respetando ambos lenguajes.
This expedition does not include airfare or transfers to the meeting point.
Each participant is responsible for managing their documentation, migration requirements, and holding valid travel insurance.
For reasons of care and safety, upon arrival at the meeting point a liability and responsibility waiver will be provided, as part of the shared agreement of presence and responsibility throughout the expedition. This journey is shared in Spanish and English, respecting both languages.
